As you probably are familiar, we pay attention to that custom sleeper company known as ARI Sleepers fairly regularly. They are probably the most famous group for making these custom trucks and modifications. This one was another stand out, we thought.
It has a look quite apart from the work they usually have been doing. Yes, it’s a big Western Star tractor job.
ARI Sleepers shared the photo with this message: “We’re finishing up this fantastic Western Star to take to the show in Louisville next week. We’ll have 6 trucks there so come check us out! Booth #32265 in the South Wing.”
This truck was double framed from the factory. I removed older model frame and stretched and installed later model air liner suspension to a wheel base of 273 inches which looks awesome on a cab over. I had 3 new drive shafts professionally made, installed 4 new monore shocks, also installed new brake pads, 4 new aluminum wheels on rear and 8 new close shoulder drives, front tires are 95% tread.
I have completely serviced this truck, air filter, oil and oil filter, three new fuel filters, also installed new starter. This truck fires right up and runs nice. This truck is ready to drive home.
It is located in Missouri, Wright County, Mansfield. For more Information about this truck. you can call or text Tommy at 417-683-0599.
Has anyone seen this big sleeper semi on the highways? It’s the Puckett’s touring ride.
Shared by ARI Legacy Sleepers, who did the work on this giant rolling apartment in lime green.:
“We are enjoying life again. The first 5 years of our trucking career we called ourselves “Professional Tourists.” Then the next 20 years it became a grind of a job. All work and no play. Getting our new sleeper took us back to our earlier days. I LOVE the ability to go to the campgrounds. So we aren’t stuck at the truck stop, with our main entertainment of going in to eat. We can ride our bike and swim at the campground pool. My husband loves to cook and now we have dinner parties in ours. Or how about the fact that I can sleep next to my husband. Not feet to head like we had to for so many years. It is unbelievable the difference having this much space has made in our lives. Thank you ARI!” – David & Karen Puckett (a.k.a. “Firefly”)”
Solar panels, propane tank, bike rack, cook area, sleeping area, and all in a compact, rugged little travel trailer teardrop unit. This one is by Inka Outdoor, and it’s called the Venture OHV Off-Road… Rough Ridge Edition.
“Rough Ridge Edition is a fresh take on the overland adventure camper. A rugged yet fairly lightweight approach (considering that many expedition rigs are based on 20,000lb or heavier chassis) the Venture OHV™ brings serious long-haul offroad capability to lighter vehicle packages such as the Jeep Wrangler or Toyota Landcruiser. No longer limited to small-box “Jeep” style trailers or the ever-popular “once setup you can’t go anywhere” rooftop vehicle tent, adventurers and travelers now have the option of bringing some serious civilization along. Base-camping while still being able to use your vehicle is now practical.
Equipped with all the standard comfort and livability features of our Brevard Hustler™ street model camper and riding on a time-proven off road suspension design, we believe that the Venture OHV™ has what it takes.
“Riding on 32 inch B. F. Goodrich All-Terrain T/A’s mounted on steel crawler rims (standard) the designed-for-purpose chassis is specifically fixture-built. The twin trailing A-arms are mirrors of each other and capable of more than 2X the rated worse-case impact suspension loads. Derated Firestone Ride-Rite™ air-springs support the body and provide a smooth, durable ride with onboard compressor and wireless adjustable remote. Rancho 9000™ adjustable shocks the bumps. 10″ electric drum brakes (with optional parking brake) provide the stopping power and electric-over-hydraulic disc brakes are available. Oversized polyurethane bushings support the suspension components and grade-8 fasteners are used. 11 gage rectangular tube and 3/16″ laser cut steel components make up the frame rails and brackets. All of this is protected in critical areas by 14 gage steel skid plates and removable (repairable) tubular rock-rails protect the body edges. Jeep-style 11 gage aluminum diamond-plate fenders are standard and diamond plate protects the composite camper body in critical areas.”
