Anyone who has ever stepped into an old garage, attic, or storage unit that hasn’t been accessed in years (or decades!) knows the feeling that anything could be in there. Like treasures! Some of us have found something interesting or even something valuable, maybe, but what if you went to clean out your grandparents’ garage and found a Lamborghini? In this case it’s a white 1981 Lamborghini Countach 300S, a car that at one point was valued at like half a million dollars and is still pretty valuable, particularly since its a model that had a run of 321 cars.
The 81 Countach 300S has a 4.8L v12 engine, and although the car needs to be restored a bit that’s not going to happen too soon. The family plans to keep the car until someone at some point wants to restore it and keep it in the family.
The car was actually one of two discovered in the garage. The other was a Ferrari 308 similar to Magnum PI’s car. Originally, the girl’s grandfather had a luxury car rental business and had bought quite a few cars, including a ’55 Benz Gullwing (a car that sells for millions now) that is no longer part of the collection. When insurance and other costs got too high, the grandfather decided to keep the cars or some of them, and just garaged the Lamborghini and Ferrari. Can you imagine later telling your friends you had to clean out your grandparents garage that day, and them being like, “That stinks!” “Um, well…”
