Forest River Aviator Wright Flyer

2013 FOREST RIVER AVIATOR WRIGHT FLYER

Did you know that the Forest River company began as a manufacturer of travel trailers and tent campers? The company, now over twenty years old, was formed in 1996 by Peter Liegl. Throughout the years, he bought several other smaller companies, including Cobra Industries, Dynamax Corporation, and Firan Motorhomes. Forest River, now owned by Warren Buffet and Berkshire Hathaway, Inc., sells everything from pontoon boats to buses to motorhomes to commercial vehicles. It has become a four billion dollar business, though of course what most people know it from is the Forest River motorhome and coach lines, such as the Aviator Wright Flyer.

If you’re considering buying a Forest River coach or motorhome, you’ll want to know about FROG – the Forest River Owner’s Group, which plans out trips and meetings around the U.S.A. and Canada. They travel together, or pick a spot and meet up to show off their new rides, classic vehicles, and relax in luxury. With around fourteen hundred members, FROG seems to be growing by leaps and bounds. Part of what makes motorhome travel so interesting is meeting the other people living on the road. Their reasons behind getting away from suburbia, their jobs, and their destinations are always worth listening to, whether it’s over a meal by a campfire or at the gas station while they’re filling up for the long journey ahead.

The Forest River motorhomes and coaches are some of the best in the world, according to its buyers, partially because of the construction, which is a single piece of fiberglass for the roof and the concrete sides, which makes it nearly impenetrable by any sort of weather. It also helps that the interior is stunning, with wooden cabinets, laminate flooring, and those extra little details that make a coach less of a vehicle and more of a home.
