Have you ever seen a camper like this before? In recent decades, we’ve seen a trend towards more and more windows on houses, but now it seems RVs are liking this idea, too!
This is the new cabin from Gehocab. It’s based on the new VW truck, the Amarok (pictured). And the camper unit is called the Gehocab Kora (Kora-Wohnkabine), a carbon fiber unit to take panoramic views to the RV level.
Did you notice in the photo this cabin has side-entry? It’s kind of like a bus!
Because it’s made of carbon fiber, it’s a very light unit sitting on the truck – empty, its just 125 kilograms, and fully loaded and stocked with fresh water, its 775 kilos.
However, this camper isn’t exactly like other units you may have seen. It’s built directly onto the Amarok frame, which might be inconvenient for some consumers wanting a unit they can easily lift off and put on again. However, what this means is they can reduce the amount of stuff sitting on the truck by hundreds of kilograms. So for people who want to keep their camper on their truck most of the time, they will be saving in fuel.
