It’s always cool to see small cabover trucks for sale, and then a custom Chevy COE comes up like this that is unlike anything we’ve seen before. We often feature big custom semi trucks with cabovers, but these old cabover pickups have their own style.
This one popped up on Papa’s Toys, where they usually have lots of classic cars for sale. Not sure if its still for sale or how long it will last if it is, but they were asking $70,000. It’s a 1948 limo hauler cabover.
A few details:

According to Papa’s, “This 1948 Chevrolet COE Limo/Hauler is quite the site at every show it’s been to and while driving down the road. The Davis family brought this hauler to many car shows including down to Hot August Nights a few times and had plenty of fun in it. It won an award at almost every show it attended and has been in several magazines. It was built by a man in Oklahoma, Dave Lewis, who custom built this one and calls it “Barney.” Apparently, this hauler was pulled over going 115 MPH down the freeway with a car on the back… so this car can REALLY get going. The ticket was framed and hung on the wall as it was quite the story to tell! The Hauler is in excellent shape, you can fit the whole family or party group in the limo section, and there is plenty of storage room underneath the hauler section.”
You can find Papa’s Toys in our vehicle directory, where we’ve indexed them and a bunch of other customizers, builders, companies, dealers, and you name it. For more custom trucks, click here.
