Well, here’s a good base for making an adventurer camper conversion… or a beach convertible for many people, a 1975 Steyr Puch Pinzgauer 712m that showed up on Craigslist a while ago.
It’s a cool off-road toy already. But it could also be made more fun with putting a bed and complete camper equipment into it.
Is the second option better? This is a rare 6×6 Austrian all terrain vehicle commonly known as Pinzgauer 712. It’s more unique than the 710 4×4 model. It was popular amongst military buyers, designed and developed by Steyr Puch for the military to use especially for Austrian Army. The one shown is powered by Inline 4-cylinder gas engine mated with a 5-speed manual transmission.
This Pinz was originally an M type (open/soft top) and modified with K type (enclosed hard top) side doors. I’ve heard it referred to as an S type. There are only a handful in the country and possible the world. Very unique.
Cool features:
– Seats 13 comfortably
– Has a top that has straps from right to left that can hold surf boards/snow boards above within the canopy and out of the way of passengers
– Back lined and can be washed out by hose
– Tank set up to act as a water tank with a pump that serves as a shower.
– Top is very modifiable. Front and rear canopies are separate and removable. Windows throughout and black out blinds included. For those camping days.
– Rear seats are removable for those times you want to do some heavy moving.
– Ocean worthy stereo with iPod inputs.
– Sound deadening lined cockpit to reduce vibrations and road/engine noise.
