Is a new Ford Thunderbird coming out?
A new Ford Thunderbird? 50 years have elapses since the first Thunderbirds were rolled off the assembly line, but their popularity hasn’t let up, with 11 generations in total.
And with the popular continuance of other muscle cars like Mustang, Camaro, Charger, why not another T-Bird? It only makes sense. And there are rumors from industry insiders, as well as ongoing designs that keep coming out, since the last Ford Thunderbirds were released in 2005.
The main question seems to be the market. Ford could build a new T-Bird easily on the existing Mustang because the new Mustang has an independent rear suspension – necessary for luxury and performance consumers. But would people buy it?
The design is probably the most key here, so we’re sharing a few of the looks proposed. The last 2005 Thunderbird was not overwhelmingly popular, and people tended to refer to it as “cigar-shaped” and not exactly as modern as they’d like.
What is the best light pickup?
Most people I know that have purchased a pickup have done so for one reason: they needed to haul stuff around. My family owned a pickup for several years and we got it because we needed a covered bed to carry around our instruments and luggage while we traveled. Some truck enthusiasts are brand-conscious, others care about the engine type, and others are more interested in hauling and towing capacity, which makes it difficult to be completely objective when comparing vehicles. However, if you’re looking for an all-around best performer in the light duty pickup truck arena, you can’t get any better than the Ford F-150.
The Ford F-150 comes with 385 hp, a V8 engine, and has a payload capacity of 3,300 pounds. While it isn’t as rugged as some other trucks, it is definitely the one you want if you’re looking for a truck that will perform at high levels in every instance. Of course, if you’re environmentally conscious and want your transportation to echo that value, you can take a look at the Ford F-150 EcoBoost, which comes with a turbocharged V6 engine, an even greater towing capacity than the original, and though it has less payload capacity, it evens out with more fuel economy and more torque.
It should be noted that to reach the pinnacle of performance, the options that should be chosen prior to purchasing a Ford F-150 are two-wheel drive, a long bed, and a regular cab.
Which truck has the most horsepower?
In order to understand the importance of having the most horsepower, it might behoove one to ask, what is the definition of horsepower? There are several types, but for our purposes, we will be utilizing the mechanical or imperial horsepower rating, which is equal to 745.7 watts of power, or about 550 foot-pounds per second. That’s quite a lot of power to handle for any one person, but we use trucks every day for a variety of reasons, including everything from work to play. When considering upgrading to a higher horsepower engine, you may want to know which trucks have the most horsepower.
There are actually two trucks tied for first with 450 hp – both of them belong to Ford. The first is the Ford F-150 Raptor, a truck made for those who enjoy off-roading, rough riding, and general roughhousing in their vehicles. It was built specifically for rugged conditions, but if you’re looking for more of a heavy duty hauler, you could take a look at the other 450 hp vehicle that Ford offers, the 2019 F-250 Super Duty. It is touted as the best-selling truck in the United States, partially because of its reputation as a hard worker and its ability to tow over 20,000 pounds (which puts it ahead of all other competitors in its class).
Whichever truck you choose, Ford promises a long relationship and peak performance from both models.
What is a motorhome rally?
If you’re new to the world of RVs, “boondocking” and a more nomadic lifestyle, you may be unaware of the large community of RV owners who participate in rallies. Unlike what one normally thinks of when considering vehicles and rallies, an RV rally is more like a convention, a gathering of like minded individuals who share a passion for RVs and the lifestyle that goes with them. Rallies are held all over the world, and there are several popular sites across the U.S. with either local chapters, RV brands, or regional groups.
You can expect a wide range of activities at a rally, including meet and greets with the community, seminars, safety training, and even entertainment and arts and crafts. They are often family friendly events (a good idea for family vacations, perhaps), and are hosted by RV brands themselves or by various groups of RV owners. What is a lorry?
With globalization and international business making it easier (and sometimes, mandatory) to move from country to country, there are some difficulties that must be overcome, like the language barrier. Even in countries where the same language is spoken, slang and colloquialisms still stump new comers from time to time. If you’ve ever wondered about the definition of a lorry or the difference between a lorry and a truck, we’ve taken the time to break down what exactly a lorry is and what it does.
Although the word “lorry” has been used since before the invention of motor vehicles, it is now used in England to denote a large flatbed vehicle used for transporting goods. Furthermore, to be classified as a lorry, a vehicle’s cab must be distinct or even separate (these vehicles are called articulated lorries). What one would call a semi in America is not the same as a lorry; in England, those types of vehicles would be referred to as either articulated lorries or juggernauts.
It should be noted here that if you are interested in utilizing a vehicle for moving purposes, you will need to check with professionals in your area to see what the regulations are. In England, you are able to use a regular license to drive a moving van, but will need a special license if you want to drive a lorry.
Truck Sizes
What Are Truck Sizes and Classifications And What Do They Mean?
Make and model information aside, the reason it is important to know truck sizes and classification in general is so that you are aware of which truck best suits your needs. It wouldn’t do, for example, to purchase a compact truck when you want to haul logs, or to buy a city delivery van when what you really want is a dump truck. Truck size has to do with both payload and towing capacity, while class size has more to do with Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (or GVWR).
If you’re in the market for a truck and need to compare the sizing, you can go from a compact to a mid-size to a full-size. Compact trucks are known for their higher safety rating, fuel economy, and ample room for both passengers and cargo. Full-size trucks, on the other hand, are generally used for heavy-duty functions such as hauling, and may have double rear tires as well as a V10 engine. The mid-size truck, of course, is a happy medium between the two.
As for classifications, they go from Class 1, which means a vehicle weighing 6,000 pounds or less, to Class 8, which holds vehicles weighing 33,000 pounds and up. What truck can tow the most?
First: we will discuss this question only as it pertains to non-commercial vehicles. Heavy-duty trucks are used by individuals every day to haul cargo for their small businesses, chores, farm work, and other duties, but it can be a bit challenging to find one that can handle a certain amount of weight without becoming difficult to handle, especially for newer drivers or those unfamiliar with driving larger vehicles.
Second: the automotive industry is never static. There are always upgrades, extras, and the like so that every year there are changes in the lineup for which truck can actually tow the most. That being said, there is a truck that stands out at the top, with a towing capacity of just over 31,000 pounds.
The Ford F-450 Super Duty comes with a 6.7L diesel engine, and utilizes a mill that was primarily designed for bigger commercial vehicles such as the Ford F-650 and Ford F-750. Previously, the title of biggest towing capacity was held by the Dodge Ram 3500, and it is speculated that the Ford F-450 Super Duty will lose its place as number one to either Dodge or Chevrolet when the next upgrade or model design occurs. For now, however, if you’re looking for the truck that has the highest haul capacity, Ford has laid its claim on that label.
1970 Austin Camper Home
There are RVs, and then there are RVs. This is something you won’t see every day, and actually its the first one we’ve ever seen. It’s from the 70s, it’s an Austin, and it’s a camper home on wheels.
This one came up for auction recently, and although it’s not an RV motorhome most people reading this will be able to swing by and pick up (because it’s in Norfolk, England), it’s interesting nonetheless. It’s being auctioned by Anglia Car Auctions, though, for anyone who is in that area and wants this motorhome.
From the auctioneers: “This conversion was completed in 2016 just three months before it became a finalist in George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces Shed of the Year. It has featured in many newspaper articles, copies of which are provided. It was also invited to Carfest North and South following it’s success where they were greeted by DJ Chris Evans. Fitted with a Nissan 2.3 diesel engine. Last MoT’d in 2016. The vendor has included some photos of the rebuild.” They estimate the bid will be between 9 and 12,000 pounds.
