Volkswagon Pickup Truck

Volkswagon Pickup Truck

We recently featured VW’s ID Buzz electric MPV, but there’s also the pickup version to talk about. Those familiar with Volkswagon’s auto manufacturing history will know already that in the past, too, not all VW “vans” were full roof vans.

They used the same rear-engine platform when they built pickup trucks and other versatile vehicles. Some of their trucks had two doors, some had a bench seat. Other Volkswagon pickup trucks had four doors to accomodate more passengers.

It’s a wonder VW isn’t still pushing it’s trucks, but maybe the timing just wasn’t there. You might wonder now that the electric small vehicle trend is still rising what might happen in this area for the company.

The VW truck, here designed by Andrei Avarvarii, is based on the VW ID Buzz electric van. It’s the same vehicle, just raised, and with electric motors in both front and rear to prive 4-WD capability.
